According to BBC Sport, Inter Milan is planning to release midfielder Christian Eriksen from his contract.
Since having a severe Cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland in June, the 29-year-old is yet to return to action.
Since then, Eriksen has been equipped with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD).
However, with the potentially life-saving equipment, the athlete is not permitted to play in Serie A, and Inter has acknowledged that his future lies elsewhere.
The remaining two-and-a-half years of Eriksen’s contract will be terminated by the Serie A giants.
Eriksen is presently training in Odense Boldklub in Denmark, where he spent three years as a youth player.
