The Manchester United footballer, who has been restricted from playing and training with the club, remains in police detention after authorities were handed more opportunities to interview him.
In a declaration, Nike terminated Greenwood’s contract by posting
We have suspended our connection with Mason Greenwood. The alarming claims concern us much, and we will continue to keep a careful eye on the issue.
Greenwood has been dismissed from Manchester United’s team indefinitely.
The club said in a release that it is aware of images and allegations circulating on social media but that it would not comment until the facts have been established.
The statement added
Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.
Greater Manchester Police also proclaimed in a statement by saying

We urge individuals to refrain from making comments or distributing photographs that might jeopardize the victim’s right to lifetime privacy or jeopardize an ongoing inquiry.
