Roman Abramovich is said to have purchased a £264 million Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner jet to add with his £930 million superyacht and £16 million in cars.

According to Forbes, which referenced industry insiders, the 50-seater aircraft is the world’s most valuable private jet, with a normal cost of £188 million plus an estimated £76 million in extra equipment customised to the billionaire’s preferences.

The plane was flown from Basel, Switzerland, where it was being readied, to Moscow, Russia, on December 18, according to Flight Radar data.

It was purportedly built in 2015 for Private Air, a Swiss airline, but was never shipped to the company after it went into bankruptcy in 2018.

The jet, which is considered to be Abramovich’s second private jet after his £128 million Boeing 767-33AER that is now offered for sale, is one of just 250 in the world and most of it is owned and managed by large airlines.

Only two such planes are reported to be privately owned: one by Mexico’s president and another by UAS International Trip Support, which runs the global luxury charter jet service ‘Dream Jet.’

A spokesperson for Millhouse, the company that administers Abramovich’s properties, refuses to comment for this story.
