On Tuesday, the Lagos police command detained three Dowen College pupils in connection with the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr.
Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, also acknowledged that three of the five pupils are already in detention.
Late Sylvester Oromoni, 16years, was brutally assaulted by senior Dowen College students, and he allegedly suffered internal injuries that eventually killed him.
After Sylvester’s demise, Nigeria’s social media space has been thrown into a frenzy with concerned Nigerians seeking justice against the school and the accused students who bullied Sylvester to death.
Although, the students were purportedly reported to be children of prominent individuals, however, Nigerians have dared the government not to exhibit their usual injustice in favor of the rich and illustrious.
Over 200,000 people signed petitions demanding for the culprits of the tragic incident to be prosecuted.
The school has subsequently been closed by the Lagos State government, and police have begun an inquiry into the incident.
