Members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun State who are committed to former governor and interior minister Rauf Aregbesola have declared that their life is threatened.
As the dispute between Rauf Aregbesola and the current Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, intensifies, the minister’s campaign headquarters in Osogbo was invaded by armed thugs.
Rasaq Salinsile, the state party’s factional leader, told reporters on Friday that the attacks were backed by the state government through the governor’s campaign organization, known as Ilerioluwa.
He said that the hoodlums who accosted them had been named for the state police, but that no arrests had been attempted. As a result, he implored Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, to take immediate action.
